2nd edition of Fructuós Canonge Contest

We are thrilled to confirm that on October 8th we will be celebrating the 2nd edition of Fructuós Canonge Contest, following the great edition we experienced last year—and registrations are now open until September 15th!

Who is this contest for?

For people aged 18 or older, professional or amateur magicians, who want to put themselves to the test in a FISM Qualified Contest and compete to win one of the 4 prizes.

What prizes are featured in this 2nd edition?

3 prizes awarded by the jury:

1st PRIZE: €1,000 + Trophy + Participation in the Vila Màgica 2026 International Gala on Sunday, October 11th (Hotel overnight stay included for people outside Catalonia, from Thursday to Sunday).
2nd PRIZE: €500 + Trophy
3rd PRIZE: €250 + Trophy

And a PUBLIC CHOICE AWARD decided by the audience attending the contest event in the afternoon, which consists of:

Magic product set valued at €100 from the shop El Rei de la Màgia
Magic product set valued at €100 from the shop Mágicus

Additionally, the winning acts will perform in the subsequent Awards Cerimony, where the awards will be given and a new audience will be able to enjoy the performances.

What does it mean to be endorsed by FISM?

The International Federation of Magic Societies (FISM) is the largest and most prestigious magic organization in the world. It represents over 80,000 magicians across 49 different countries.
Being qualified by FISM means adhering to specific standards, such as having a jury composed of at least 50% official FISM judges and following the organization’s official scoring rules, ensuring a fair and objective competition.

For participants, it is a fantastic opportunity to get a sense of the standard required in qualifying competitions such as the Continental Championships or the World Championship organized by the Federation.

What other perks does the contest offer?

Certificate of participation for all participants in the in-person phase.
Free entry ticket to visit Gaudí’s Casa Vicens, marking the 100th anniversary of Antoni Gaudí’s passing.
Video recording of your act. The Organization will make a full recording of your routine and send it to you privately so you can use it for improvement.
Opportunity to be hired for other events:

Showcasing your act will allow various entities to evaluate your performance and consider hiring you for future events, including:

The Vila Màgica Organization – To perform in future editions of the Vila Màgica Festival.
The Ajuntament de Montbrió del Camp – For fairs and events in and around their town, located in southern Catalonia.
The BIMF Organization (Busan International Magic Festival) – This year we are starting an exchange with another global hotspot for magic: the Republic of Korea (South Korea). Just as we invite a professional to perform at our International Gala this year, they will also invite someone from here to perform at their festival.

Where will the show take place?

The contest will take place at Sala Golem’S, a café-theater venue with a bar area, allowing attendees to enjoy a pleasant time while watching the performances.
