Francis Zafrilla

Born in the early 70s in Albacete, son of a Spanish enterpreneur and an adventurous Mexican woman, Francis Zafrilla already showed signs of being an artist since very young. His grandfather lived in California and when he came to visit would bring him gifts that seemed to come from another world.

One of them was a Bicycle poker deck that he still has. Without knowing what poker was or practically the world of Magic, he played for many hours with those cards. At the time he did not know that, over time, they would become inseparable friends.

His influences: the Magic of Tamariz, Ascanio, Dai Vernon, René Lavand, Pepe Carrol. He read everything he could when DVDs or videos did not yet exist, and he never missed a Magic performance on television.

It didn’t take long for the first card games to arrive, and then sponge balls, dice, coins… Magic grew and occupied a more intense place in his life. After meeting Copperfield in person during one of his tours, he forged his illusion into a future reality: grand illusions, longer routines, mentalism…

He seeks to ignite within each spectator the curiosity to know more, see more, want more. He uses imagination to transform it into illusion, surprise and fascination through magic.

He will perform at the International Gala his number “Confeti!” at Col·legi Sant Josep de Gràcia.
